Coney Island

A peninsula, the Coney Island neighborhood was once a resort community that reached its tourist peak in the early 20th century. After World War II the beach resort and amusement park began to decline, however in recent years Coney Island has seen a resurgence with the opening of a new baseball field that is home to the minor league Brooklyn Cyclones and a new city-sponsered renovation.
